The Silent film era

Vivienne starred in this art-house silent film titled The Shadowed Threat. In this film, the main character hears a surprising noise and then realizes the only path forward is to use the one thing she doesn’t want to use.

While I learned in this article that it is possible to start an article post with a video and the substack system handles it as a preview option in the posting. This is great. It means instead of burying video content deeper into the article, better video content can surface up towards the top for your review. What’s not so great is the substack asset generators completely ignored the video. So instead of creating nice assets that appear in different channels I get a carnival act.

Vivienne

The world of wonder, lived in an era of the 1920s is a portrait of a prior age brought to life. The actress, “Vivienne” is our newest character lead of John’s World. This virtual world of 1925 has me think of how to shift from “brief scenes” to something that’s a little longer, a little more “real”.

Even better is that John’s World has initial support for audio.

Hearing in a silent movie surely won’t make sense, and yet there’s all the world building with audio that can happen outside. It’s ironic in a very small way that I found a path to enable audio generation while making improvements to the silent movie era universe.
